MH-1-3002 - CONSTRUCTION OF CODE.

  • Unless the provisions or the context otherwise requires, these general provisions shall govern the construction of this code:

    (a)

    Gender. The masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter.

    (b)

    The headings of subsections, sections, chapters, divisions and titles of this code shall not be construed to affect the meaning of any part of this code.

    (c)

    May is permissive.

    (d)

    Number. The singular number includes the plural, and the plural the singular.

    (e)

    Oath includes affirmation.

    (f)

    Shall is mandatory.

    (g)

    Tenses The present tense includes the past and future tenses, and the future tense includes the present tense.

    (h)

    Title of Office. The use of the title of any officer, employee, department, board or commission means that officer, employee, department, board or commission of the Mountain House Community Services District.

    (i)

    Writing includes any form of recorded or electronic message capable of comprehension by ordinary visual means. Whenever any notice, report, statement or record is required or authorized by this code, it shall be made in writing in the English language unless it is expressly provided otherwise.
